Why Are People Targeting the ICCSD Truth Tellers?

Why are people targeting the ICCSD truth tellers, namely Phil Hemingway and Julie Van Dyke? It's particularly bizarre to me that Gregg Hennigan of the Gazette would join in on the side of the wealthy and powerful. He's a journalist, or purports to be. Why would he target Phil Hemingway and Julie Van Dyke in a news piece? What he wrote isn't news; it's opinion, and overtly biased opinion at that.

In referring to Hemingway and Van Dyke, Hennigan wrote, "...both typically are harshly critical of board or administrative decisions and sometimes get personal with their comments."

The way the board and district administrators pursue their own agenda in defiance of many in the community's wishes -- for example, the lies told by school district administrators prior to the most recent school bond vote, it's a wonder that more people aren't harshly critical of administrative decisions and board members in particular who openly try to stifle community comment.

Is KCJJ radio owner Steve Soboroff ranting about Phil Hemingway, and if so, why? Does Soboroff know Hemingway? Is he telling the truth about the man? Soboroff told me on the air that I was lying when I told him I'd just seen a First Student bus driven during a bus driver strike run over an Iowa City Transit bench on Fourth Avenue Court near City High. I have a lot of faults, but lying isn't one of them.

It was astonishing to me that Soboroff would instantly come to the conclusion that I was lying. I mean, either the waiting-for-the-bus bench was run over or it wasn't.

A police detective told me once that when people accuse you of doing something, chances are they're doing it themselves. Something to think about.
