New Jersey Court Rules Texter and Receiver Could Be Held Accountable if Text Distracts Driver & Accident Occurs

A New Jersey court ruled that both the texter and the receiver of a text message could both be held legally accountable if the texter knew that the receiver was driving and was likely to read the text. The case that generated the decision involved a truck driver who was distracted by a text he read and subsequently struck a motorcyclist with a passenger.

That's something to think about if you're tempted to send a text to someone who you know is driving.
