I Wish This Daring and Speedy Bicyclist Were Me, But It's Not . . . Alas! I Laughed So Hard I About Bust a Gut.

Bicyclists can't go 55 miles per hour, can they? Or was it 55 kilometers per hour? Or was it even faster? This bicyclist was following cars on a highway.

At first I couldn't see the cyclist in the video clip because he was going so fast that the police in whatever country this was (the former Czechoslavakia or some new partition thereof?) couldn't catch up to him.

Then the police caught up with the bicyclist and I thought they had him. So did they, but there was a snag.

"He turned left?" they asked each other incredulously.

The police went right, unfortunately.

"My wife ain't gonna believe this," one cop reflected to the others.

Again they caught up to him when they merged left behind the cyclist. Then the bicyclist disappeared in a large cluster of trees on the right. The cops gave up.

This would never be me. No; Lance Armstrong, perhaps, but not me.

There was a thud and silence as all the squad cars stopped in unison and gave up.
