Hamas Is Pulling out All the Stops to Provoke War with Israel

Hamas began, in the latest series of provocations, with the abduction and murder of three Israeli teenagers, two 16 years old and one 19, and one of them with dual Israeli-American citizenship, who were hitchhiking home. Why anyone would hitchhike anywhere in such a place I have no idea, but the teen boys paid for their mistake with their lives.

"Jewish terrorists," as Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu called them, responded with a blood-curdling act of their own. They captured a 16 or 17-year-old boy, beat him and burned him alive in an act of revenge. Six Israelis, possibly members of a right-wing Israeli soccer team known as "La Familia" (how apt a name), have been arrested as suspects in the crime.

In reprisal, Hamas fired hundreds of rockets they got from Iran into Israeli cities, increasing their range as far as Jerusalem. Israelis are literally living in bomb shelters there are so many attacks. The Israeli defense system, the "Iron Dome," is shooting down some of Hamas' rockets, but can't shoot them all down. So far two Israelis have been injured, but there are no known fatalities.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu is retaliating with pinpoint strikes on known Hamas terrorist military installations. There would be no civilian casualties except that Hamas intentionally puts women and children on the roofs of these installations to create civilian casualties and increase world sympathy. 

Are all of these women and children placed on the roofs of Hamas military installations, known to be Israeli bombing targets, glad to die in the name of jihad? The children can't have reached the age of consent. What kind of barbaric culture is this?

Hamas knows that Israel has superior weaponry from the United States and that they are endangering their own people by inviting reprisals after Hamas attacks. They welcome those attacks so that they can continue their futile struggle to wipe Israel from the face of the earth. They refuse to admit Israel's right to exist and have missed no opportunity to miss an opportunity to have their own state, starting in 1948. 

As Golda Meir, the former head of Israel said, 

“We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”

Of course to jihadists, life is cheap. A religion that celebrates death in a "worthy" cause, the annihilation of the Jews and Israel, will never celebrate life in its own state. Death is their way of life. Peace and prosperity are not.
