Hey, I found Libs on Crack on Slate 29, and s/he is supporting Travis Weipert for Auditor too!

Some of the many reasons why you shouldn't vote to reelect Tom Slockett to be Johnson County Auditor (Iowa).

Could it be our very own Libs on Crack? I found her on Slate29 while googling Travis Weipert, who is running against Tom Slockett for the position of Johnson County Auditor. S/he supports Travis Weipert too!

The keen interest in the Johnson County Auditor election has generated a number of Facebook pages and blogs. "Maxwell Smart" just sent me "Slockett's Greatest Misses: Part One," a compellingly specific documentation of Auditor Slockett's alleged errors in accuracy during his many years as auditor.

Were 119 provisional ballots not counted, as they should have been, in the presidential election of 2004 in Johnson County? You will recall that only 10,059 votes (0.67% of the vote) separated Bush/Cheney and Kerry/Edwards in the 2004 presidential election in Iowa.

Did Mr. Slockett really attend a training on a new system without bringing any of his staff, and then assign the task of training Johnson County Auditor's office staff to a female employee who did not attend the training? Did he really hand her a manual and tell her to "'figure it out'"?

We know that Iowa City Police arrested Mr. Slockett twice for two Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWIs). On one occasion, Mr. Slockett bumped a driver's bumper at Kentucky Fried Chicken and left the scene of the accident. The other driver took down his license plate number and police went to his residence, where Mr. Slockett admitted to drinking beer at home before going to KFC.

On Sunday, June 10, 2007 at 10:14 p.m. Mr. Slockett was driving southbound on Dubuque Street and failed to yield to several pedestrians attempting to cross Washington Street. The Iowa City Press-Citizen documented both OWIs in an article dated June 12, 2007, by Lee Hermiston, currently archived, but I paid for a hard copy.
