PHOTOS: Iowa City Downtown Businesses Welcome Holiday Cheer

Iowa City's downtown businesses welcomed kids, parents and, of course, Santa, to enjoy some holiday cheer.

It was more of a grey and rainy Christmas than a white one, but the Downtown Association still brought holiday cheer to downtown Iowa City Saturday afternoon.

The annual event featured some of the classic family fun that families have been enjoying for years, including a visit from Santa, kid’s yoga, cookie decorating, musical entertainment, and free horse-drawn wagon rides through downtown.

Santa arrived at the Old Capitol Town Center at noon and stayed until 2:00 p.m. Children were provided a variety of different events to keep them busy, as parents could do some holiday shopping at downtown vendors.
