Patricia “Pat” A. Ferguson, 82, of Iowa City, died Friday, July 18th at Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. The Very Reverend Rudolph Juarez will officiate. The family will greet friends Tuesday morning at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Patricia Ann "Pat" Pettipiece was born May 5, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan. Raised in Detroit, Pat later met and married Jay Ferguson on February 23, 1951 in Norfolk, Virginia. The couple lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 35 years -- moving to the Iowa City area in 1998.
Pat raised their children while maintaining the family home. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City.
Survivors include her husband Jay; her daughters, Anita Funk, from Iowa City and Helen Koen (Bruce) of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sons Michael and Joseph Ferguson, a daughter Julie Marie Terry, her sister Evelyn Pettipiece and a son-in-law, Larry Funk.
