Two Iowa City Motorists Badly Injured After Head-On Collision on Prairie Du Chien Road


Two Iowa City motorists were transported to the hospital, one via helicopter, after a head-on collision last night on Praire Du Chien Road north of 320th Street.

According to an Iowa State Patrol Crash report at 9:40 p.m. last night a Honda Sonata driven by Timothy Kriz, 28, of Iowa City collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander driven by Charles Gay, 90, also of Iowa City.

Both men were transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for their injuries, Kriz by helicopter and Gay by Johnson County ambulance.

Investigation continues into the circumstances behind the accident.
