The nearly $5 million plan will put an emphasis on increasing communication, both within schools and between schools.

“We have a large school district, 27 buildings, spread from Hills to [North Liberty],” said Superintendent Steve Murley. “We’re confident we can communicate corner to corner in the district.”

The plan will also improve locks on classroom and school doors, as well as improve security camera systems throughout the district.
