Iowa City Road Work: Benton St., Gilbert Ct., S. Dubuque St.

It's a nice sunny, if a little cold and windy, day out today and tomorrow, and that means road crews will likely be out working on the following locations according to the City of Iowa City.

E Benton St. and Gilbert Ct.

Weather permitting, beginning on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the intersection of Gilbert Court and East Benton Street, E. Benton Street will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic near its intersection with Gilbert Court. In addition Gilbert Court will be closed to through traffic at this point. This lane reduction and closure is necessary to facilitate pavement repair work in the area. It is anticipated that normal traffic will resume by October 31st.

S. Dubuque St.

Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, October 31, 2012, S. Dubuque Street will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic from Wright Street to Prentiss Street. This lane reduction is necessary to facilitate road maintenance work in the area. The road will be re-opened to normal traffic by the end of the day.
