Daily Links Quote (Snippet) of the Day: The total cost of replacing the buildings without any enhancements is expected to cost about $386 million, of which UI officials expected FEMA to cover about 90 percent, or $347 million.

"We negotiated with the regional office, and that was the most they could pay," True said. "In this case, these big replacements are unusual. They're unusual in the country, and they're very unusual in the region."

Instead of paying the maximum they can cover, FEMA will fund about 69 percent of the projects. UI will be responsible for the remaining $120 million and the cost of any additional upgrades to those buildings.
