As a result, almost every requested program saw less funding than last year or no funding at all, with the exception of 319 Music Fest, which is poised to receive about $500 more than last year.

Councilor Susan Mims said with the city facing economic hardships, some programs may have to look for ways to raise more funding on their own.

“We can’t be all things to all people,” Mims said. “We can’t keep doing this.”
