CCI’s demonstration taps into that response.

“Big Bird and ‘Sesame Street’ didn’t cause the economic crisis and financial meltdown, the big banks on Wall Street did,” CCI Action Fund member Jess Reznicek said in a statement. “The letter B is for bully, and that’s exactly what Mitt Romney is: a bully who picks on PBS instead of Goldman Sachs.”

“Sesame Street”  and the real Big Bird, of course, will have nothing to do with the protest. In a tweet sent out the morning after the debate, Sesame Workshop, the group the produces the show, said: “We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. We do not comment on campaigns, but we’re happy we can all agree that everyone likes Big Bird!”
