  • Joseph M Jason Hi Bev:
Re: Daniel getting convicted of 55 years of charges and the Criminalization of Asperger Syndrome
As far as being on your live cable station, lets wait until the sentencing date which is June 27th. That way all the facts will be known. In my opinion, it would not have made a difference being on your show as far as his convictions for various reasons. Also what I believe to be black and white is twisted by the Johnson County prosecutor Janet Lyness. . They have treated Daniel like Adam Lonza.
I believe there are many avenues of Appeal including the following:
1)The threat of a stun belt causing Daniel to have a bench trial.
2)The Judge not allowing a continuance. This resulted in the expert on autism being a rebuttal witness.
3)Habitual Offender-One of the charges was an agreement after an Appeal and should not count as a conviction.
4)The Judge's conviction on extortion could put the the whole country at risk. For example, if I said to you, Bev, if I cannot go on your show, I will reveal embarrassing information about you, but I don't say what, the judge would give me a felony conviction and five years. I cannot believe this is a correct interpretation of the statute.
5)The Judge allowed testimony going back to 2006.

I am sure there are other areas also. I also will find out on June 3rd if Johnson County prosecutor will remain in office. I have worked personally in advocating for the opponent John Zimmerman to win. I am warning students not to go to the University of Iowa. I am warning the autism community throughout the country and the world. In all fairness, it s not entirely the prosecutor, its also the police department in Iowa City. They don't understand Asperger Syndrome nor do they want to. They all walked out when the real forensic psychiatrist testified. If the trial was televised, it would have sent a message to the world about this grave injustice. You have Daniel not looking up the whole time but with a photographic memory. He did not look at his ex-girlfriend. Also Daniel never went to Iowa and have never been violent.

I have provided testimony to Washington on various matters regarding the Criminalization of Asperger Syndrome. I want to make sure this never happens to anybody else in the country especially Iowa City.
