The Henrietta Lacks Story: A Discussion On Gender, Race And Medical Ethics

The Henrietta Lacks Story: A Discussion on Gender, Race and Medical Ethics will be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 7 pm in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library. The program will cover the evolution of the federal regulations for human subjects' research and the involvement of minority and vulnerable subject groups in research prior to and since the regulations were enacted.

Scheduled presenters are: Andy Bertolatus, MD, Executive Director Human Subjects Office & Associate Professor- Internal Medicine; Martine Dunnwald, PharmD, PhD, Research Assistant Professor Pediatrics-Neonatology, Adjunct Assistant Professor Genetics & Adjunct Assistant Professor Molecular Biology and Cellular Biology Program. 

Sponsors of the program are the Iowa City Public Library, the Iowa City Human Rights Commission and the Diversity Committee of the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
