Iowa City Farmers Market Schedules First Annual "Dairy Day" This Weekend

June is National Dairy Month -- and this weekend, the Iowa City Farmers Market will pay tribute to dairy farmers with its first annual "Dairy Day." The event is scheduled Saturday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at Chauncey Swan Park, across the street from City Hall on Washington Street.

Stop by for free cheese sticks and bring the kids for a chance to "milk" a mechanical cow and make homemade ice cream. If you grew up in the country, take a few minutes to share some memories with the Iowa Historical Society on what life on the farm was like.

The Saturday Farmers Market, held in Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp and on Washington Street, is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
