City Park Rides Now Open Weekends Only

The 2013 season is coming to an end for the amusement park rides at City Park, but for the next couple of weeks, families can continue to enjoy the carousel, train, airplanes and other rides on weekends. City staff will operate the rides from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays only through Sunday, September 29. In cases of inclement weather, rides will be closed.

Ticket prices are 75 cents per ride, which may be paid directly to the ride attendant, or $6 for a 10-punch card, which may be purchased from the ride attendants, the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center at 220 S. Gilbert Street, or the Mercer / Scanlon facility at 2701 Bradford Drive.

The rides are located on the north side of City Park at 200 E. Park Road, adjacent to the river. For more information, contact the City of Iowa City Parks and Recreation Office at 319-356-5100.
