Starbucks, Eco-Friendly Floors Part Of First Avenue Hy-Vee Makeover

Goodbye white linoleum floors, and dated service counters. Time for a makeover.

And, need a latte to pep up your grocery shopping? That's coming, too.

The updating has begun at Hy-Vee on First Avenue in Iowa City. A few aisles at a time, workers are stripping the old floors.

They will be replaced with eco-friendly concrete floors like the ones at Waterfront Hy-Vee. Check out the video of the work. Fair warning, the sound is a bit loud.

If you need frozen burritos while the frozen food section is on lock down, fear not. Runners will venture down the aisle to grab what you need.

The customer service counter is being renovated and the star of the project is a Starbucks.

Hy-Vee staff are so pumped about the coffee shop coming they were keeping a countdown to the day it opens - July 29.

What store in the Iowa City area do you think is in the biggest need of a makeover?
