This spring the Senior Center launches the Family Folk Machine, an intergenerational, non-auditioned choir that welcomes kids and adults of all ages and backgrounds to sing together with a folk band. The choir rehearses on Sundays from 3 - 5 PM at the Senior Center, and plans to offer performances at The Center and throughout the community.

"We sing songs that teach us about our history, that lift spirits, that focus our attention on issues faced by our society, that show us what we have in common," says Family Folk Machine director Jean Littlejohn.

There is still time for interested singers to join the Family Folk Machine to prepare for its spring program, "This Land is Your Land." No experience is necessary. Currently the choir particularly needs a few more tenors and basses, and adults age 50 and up.

For more information or to get involved, contact director Jean Littlejohn at jeanlittlejohn@gmail.com or 319-358-5759 before the next rehearsal on Sunday, January 13.
