3. John Oliver appears at the Iowa Memorial Union

Description: John Oliver, an Emmy winning writer and staple on Comedy Central's the Daily Show (he's the British guy), will make a stand up comedy appearance in Iowa City at the Iowa Memorial Union. Presented by Hancher and SCOPE Productions.

4. Chinese New Year celebration at the Iowa Children's Museum
Where/When: Iowa Children's Museum, 1451 Coral Ridge Avenue,
Coralville.
Description: It's the year of the Dragon. Help kick off the Chinese New Year with the kids at the Iowa Children's Museum. Create your a dragon puppet and join in a museum-wide dragon dance. Build and race a dragon boat. Create your own Chinese New Year decor including lanterns and Chinese paper cutting.
