Children's Center for Therapy's Bike Camp Lends a Helping Hand This Saturday

Media Release:

On Saturday, August 3, the Children’s Center for Therapy will be hosting a Bike Camp from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at their Iowa City location. The Children’s Center for Therapy, in collaboration with AMBUCS, is conducting a FREE bike camp for kids.

The Center’s highly trained therapists will be presenting recommendations to promote independent biking, biking safety for all ages, sharing adaptive accessories, and tips to train parents on teaching their kids to ride! Also, the AmTryke Road Show is coming to Iowa City for the bike camp.

The AmTryke trailer is full of equipment and adapted accessories including 18 different models of AmTrykes! AmTrykes are provided by AMBUCS, a non-profit service organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. In addition, the Children’s Center is teaming up with local groups who focus on biking in Johnson County. These groups will be presenting information and activities that are available in the area for kids and families.

A few of our community partners are West High Best Buddies Program, Iron Hawk, Iowa City Mom’s Blog, Iowa Bicycle Coalition, Children’s Center Charities, and Manantial Hispanic Support Group.

To request more information or to RSVP for the Bike Camp, please call Caitlin Williams or Matt Thompson at 319-351-5437 (KIDS).
