Flexible schedule with late afternoon/evening hours

 

Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in the maintenance of municipal building, facilities and grounds. Sweeps, mops, waxes, buffs, scrubs, and cleans floors, vacuums areas, washes windows and walls, cleans restrooms, empties and cleans waste receptacles as directed. Performs or assists with minor building repairs and maintenance. Replaces light bulbs; turns out lights, locks doors, windows and gate. Assists departments and divisions as directed. Maintains surrounding walks and grounds. Performs other related duties as required.

 

Minimum education, experience and certification

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.  Must have ability to work independently. Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Prefer experience with janitorial duties, supplies, and cleaning equipment, and will train.  Must pass criminal background check. 

 

City of Iowa City application must be received by 5PM, Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Human Resources, 410 E. Washington Street, Iowa City, Iowa 52240.
