Job Duration: December 5, 2013 through March 1, 2014
Performs snow and ice removal on hard surface trails and sidewalks, in parking lots and on park roads. Assists with snow removal from ponds to create ice skating areas. Uses shovels and assorted hand tools as well as walk-behind snow blowers to remove snow and ice. Assists Forestry Division with tree pruning in City parks, on public street rights-of-way and on other City property. Operates chain saws, power pole pruners, hand pruning tools, and medium and large dump trucks. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum education, experience and certification
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a basic knowledge of plant materials and maintenance, and a general knowledge of the use of chain saws, snow blowers and hand tools. Requires the ability to perform heavy lifting, continuous standing and walking under a variety of environmental conditions. Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. Applicant must have a phone by which he/she may be contacted on short notice. Must pass criminal background check.
