If you have to wear a name badge at work, why be boring? Stand out of the crowd by designing and making a functional and beautiful or fun piece to hang your badge on. Instruction on how to professionally finish your lariat will be provided in a relaxed atmosphere. Each participant will pick out a kit made from glass beads from the Czech Republic and a sprinkling of sterling silver. Your co-workers will bug you to make something this nice for them! No previous experience necessary.
Registration is through Kirkwood Community College. Register at:
www.kirkwood.edu and go to Continuing Education and then search for Beadology Iowa under the instructor search. On site registrations will be taken if registration through Kirkwood meets minimum requirements of four participants. Instructor: Karen Kubby

Beadology, located on Washington Street, has been selling beads and offering beading classes to residents since 1987. Class options include stringing, knotting, flamework, seed bead weaving, wirework and more. Bead offerings include pearl, glass, metal, plastic and crystal, as well as beading tools and more.
