Terry Coleman, City High's current assistant principal and future athletic director, describes the progress on the project that is nearly completed after it took more than four years to get off the ground.
It's a bit surreal for Assistant Principal Terry Coleman, but a project that took several years to plan and gain approval from the Iowa City School Board is nearing completion. Coleman said that progress is going well enough on the wing that they should be able to move some students to the space in May, allowing work to be done on the remodelling of the existing performance and theater space, which will be done in synch with the completion of the performance wing. He said the goal of the new performance spaces (the choral room, the orchestra room, and the band recital room shown in the video above) was to create more performance and practice space for music programs that had long outgrown their own performance areas, while also improving …

Movie reviews and movie times for theaters across the Iowa City area. Let Patch help you decide what you're going to see this weekend. Movies to choose from include "Oblivion", "42", "Scary Movie 5" and more.
Movie information aggregated from MovieFone.com The Big Wedding "There’s not a bad performance in this movie. De Niro, Keaton and Sarandon are particularly good, what a surprise. But it feels as if all the guests at “The Big Wedding” are wearing ID tags telling us their one Plot Point." Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times. "There is nothing about the movie that isn’t utterly predictable. You meet a character, and it’s immediately obvious what’s going to happen to him (or her). And then it happens. Maybe it’s meant to make you feel good about your deductive reasoning skills or something. But mostly it just makes you want to see something else." Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic. Do you plan on seeing this movie? Leave a review of the film …

The Technology Corridor spanning Interstate 380 and anchored by Iowa City and Cedar Rapids has been rebranded the Creative Corridor. Here's a video about why.
Remember the Technology Corridor? You may not have realized it, but since February of 2012 you've been living in the Creative Corridor, as the powers that be behind the campaign decided it would better describe the opportunities afforded by the metro areas of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. There was a recent re-re launch of this campaign to spread the word anew about this rebranding effort. You can see more about that at the Creative Corridor Facebook page or here: The Creative Corridor Project aims to highlight the innovation and collaboration in the region Part of that event was the video attached above, produced by Bocce Ball Studios Corridor about what makes it a Creative Corridor. What do you think of the brand name? Does it make any …
