It's time for one of those only true certainties in life.
That's right, the tax season of 2013 is upon us.
Iowa City Patch will be your local source this tax season for info on where you can go to get your 2012 taxes done for free if you qualify for assistance, who you can hire to do your taxes professionally, as well as tax advice from local tax experts.
As for the original question RE: the refund, if you filed your taxes on the first day you could this year (Jan. 30, due to a delay) it should be arriving in roughly three weeks hence. Paul French, a Patch blogger, has already written about the new refund system.
Or as the Interal Revenue Service says:
You can generally expect the IRS to issue your refund in less than 21 calendar days after we receive your tax return.
If you are curious about your refund and simply can't wait for it to arrive, you can get your refund status using this IRS provided tool.
