University of Iowa Police: Two Women Reported Encountering a Man Without Pants
On Monday, two separate women found to their surprise that a male stranger nearby felt pants were optional.
The University of Iowa police department is looking for more information on two separate indecent exposure incedents involving men dropping their pants and exposing themselves to women in the same day, according to a university press release.
On Monday at about 1:20 p.m. a woman told police she had been walking in the 200 block of Church Street when a man asked her for help. When the woman approached him, she saw the man’s pants were down and that he was exposing himself to her.
The suspect in this case was described a white male in his mid thirties wearing a black knit beanie, according to the release.
Also on Monday, about an hour later at 2:40 p.m., a woman told police she was in her apartment building in the 1000 block of Newton Road when she saw a man standing in the building's hallway. The woman said the man, also a white male, was wearing a t-shirt and hat but was naked from the waist down.
In each incident the suspect fled the scene before police arrived, according to the release, and it is unknown at this time if the incidents are related.
Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to call the Iowa City Police at 319-356-5275 or Iowa City Crimestoppers at 319-358-8477. Callers to Crimestoppers who give information that leads to a conviction may be eligible for a reward.
