Police: University of Iowa Dental Student Manufactured False-Compartment Containers to Distribute Marijuana

Police accuse the 27-year-old dental student of fabricating the devices to distribute marijuana to fellow students.

A University of Iowa dental student is facing a felony drug charge after allegedly distributing marijuana to other dental students in containers he manufactured with false-compartments to contain the drug.

Geoffrey Alan Skinner, 27, of Iowa City has been charged with felony distribution of marijuana, a Class D felony, and allowing the possession of drugs within a residence, an aggravated misdemeanor, after a search of his apartment at 41 Valley Avenue on Nov. 26th.

According to criminal complaints, the Johnson County Drug Task force served a search warrant on Skinner's apartment at the above date, finding multiple glass "Ball" jars with marijuana residue and fifteen fabricated compartment containers that police suspected of being used to distribute marijuana.

They also confiscated a container of "Jelltrate Plus" a dustless material used in the making of dental impressions. They accused Skinner of using the material to add weight to his false compartment containers.
