Police were called to the site of the festivities at College Green Park at 1:46 p.m. Saturday for the report of a man, Oren, yelling obscenities and disturbing the parade. Police warned Oren about this incident, according to the complaint. Later, when Oren jumped up onto the stage, interrupting musicians and yelling, he was arrested.
Iowa City police Lt. Bill Campbell said that Oren was actually in the parade, and was complaining loudly about the policies of President Obama.
"I don't think his issue was with the parade at all," Campbell said. "He wasn't happy with some of the things that are going on in the election."
Campbell said Oren told police that he is running for president. Oren was also accused of dancing too aggressively with some of the female participants.
According to the complaint, Oren was charged with interference with official acts following his arrest he tensed up and resisted being put into the squad car, all while yelling loudly.

So, tensing up (which by the way can be an involuntary reaction to stress) is also illegal now? Your headline is misleading. He got arrested for disorderly conduct, not because of his dance style. It's very shameful how you in the media are permitted to mislead (read: lie) to people on a daily basis. Not all of us are lemmings, grow a backbone and report the truth, not what's spoonfed to you. Good Morning Vietnam! is a great movie, I highly reccommend watching it.

There really wasn't one thing that he was arrested for, from what I understand. The dancing and yelling and profanity were part of the overall disruption that police say he was first warned about and then arrested for.

For crying out loud. There is no such word as "prolly." The word is probably. I find it frightening the speed at which our language skills--written and spoken--are deteriorating in this country. Why don't you use a word processing program and then paste in into the comment area? Embarrassing....
