Election 2012: Jon Bon Jovi to Perform in Iowa City at Obama Early Voting Event this Friday

The celebrity singer will be giving an acoustic performance in Hubbard Park on the University of Iowa Campus this Friday. Tickets will be available in Iowa City, and other locations.

So maybe getting extra attention for being a swing state isn't that bad, especially if you happen to be a Bon Jovi fan.

Jon Bon Jovi will be in Iowa City this Friday on behalf of President Barack Obama's re-election campaign. According to an Obama for America press release, Bon Jovi will be giving an acoustic performance in Hubbard Park near the Iowa Memorial Union on Friday.

The campaign is using the early vote event as a stage to set what's at stake in the election and to encourage attendees to vote early.

Doors will open to the public at 3:30 p.m. according to the release. It is unclear at the moment when the performance will begin. Bon Jovi will be performing at a similar event in Des Moines at 6:30 p.m.

Free tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis for the Early Vote Iowa City event beginning Tuesday, October 2, from noon to 9 p.m. (central time) at Iowa City and Cedar Rapids area offices.

I lean toward either "Wanted Dead or Alive," "Keep the Faith," or "A Little Bit of Soul."

"Livin' On a Prayer," obviously. Any song that can inspire that kid on the jumbotron inspires me.
