Iowa City Lost, Found, and Missing Pets: Jan. 23 Edition

Info on animals that have been lost, reported missing, seen loose, or been found in the last week.

I am trying something new this week, working with moderator of the Iowa City Lost Pets Facebook page to keep tabs on reports of missing animals. You can keep up with her blog on Iowa City Patch as well. I also have some missing animal reports in my most recent Best of Iowa City Craigslit post.

And on a related note, here are animals up for adoption that I feature every week: Iowa City Adopt this Pet of the Week

Here are the posts from this week so far:

Report Sightings of Stray Animals

A reminder to report sightings of stray animals so that searching owners can find them. (Click the post or see below for more details)

Lost: Older Chocolate Labrador, Iowa City

Lost, small black dog, white chest, SE Iowa City (Good news this dog was found by Owner)

Lost Cat, Iowa City

Sighting: Poodle

Found: Pit-bull mix

Found : Small Dog

*** Please remember to post sightings of stray pets to Iowa City Lost Pets (as well as Iowa City Animal Control), even if you are unable to catch the animal. Reported sightings are crucial to the recovery of lost pets, and your report may be the clue that brings about a happy reunion.

Have you heard about the National Lost/Found pet registry www.helpinglostpets.com?

It's totally FREE and map based. Here's a video that shows how it works:
