Dr. Who, Time Travel and April Fools' Day Prank at City High

City High students had a surprise waiting for classmates as they arrived on April Fools' Day.

City High students had puzzled looks this morning as they walked past an out-of-place blue phone booth and several students dressed in vintage clothing on their way into school.

The full-size phone booth is a replica TARDIS, or a time travel machine (Time and Relative Dimension in Space), from the British science fiction television series Dr. Who. Students built it as a sociological experiment and timed its unveiling to April Fools' Day.

"Doing it on April Fools' Day gave us grounds to have it there in getting faculty approval," said Tristan Roeder, who helped build the structure.

About a dozen students took part at the front entrance on the frosty morning to greet their classmates.

Roeder, as the 10th Doctor, and several classmates dressed as characters from the TV show about the Time Lords exploring the universe. Annika Brashers-Krug was the 4th Doctor, Gwyneth Forsythe was Donna, Leah Harney was Oswin Oswald, Tessa Harney was Rose Tyler, Jill Swanson came as Rory Williams and Lydia Johnson was Martha Jones.
