Time: 8am – 8pm

From a news release:
Savor food prepared with fresh, local ingredients by the area’s top chefs, and enjoy handcrafted beverages while roaming farms and enjoying the company of friends. Proceeds of the bicycle ride benefit Farm to School and the Youth Off Road Riders. We’re riding to ensure that kid’s growth and development includes a nutritious helping of physical activity, fresh food, and a connection to the natural world.
The Culinary Ride is an experience organized to contextualize Iowa City within the surrounding agriculture and raise our awareness of people and businesses that place high value on local goods and supporting their local agricultural economy. We hope to help cultivate this appreciation for the fertility of Iowa soil and to promote responsible urban, residential, and rural land use. We also love to ride bikes, and we believe that there is no better way to experience the beauty of Iowa than by bicycle.
There are two route options, allowing participants to ride at their own pace: 60-mile Beet-it-Up is an adventurous route which includes some gravel, a 25-mile Cherry Tomato Route is all paved. This year we’re biking Iowa and Johnson Co. showcasing restored prairie, a berry and vegetable farm, home gardens, a small town restaurant serving big time New Orleans cuisine, the future site of one of the only Midwest farmers attempting commercially raise organic hops, a local brewery, bee keeping and honey production, the Hawkeye Wildlife Management Area, and more.
Ticket price is $45, ensures you’ll be well fed, and you’ll receive a titanium spork and reusable cloth napkin to use along the ride and for years to come.
