Iowa Shares: Collaborating to make a difference
Support Local Foods Connection through workplace giving! Local Foods Connection’s mission is to make available to the disadvantaged members of the greater Iowa City area the opportunity to enjoy locally made healthful food, to become part of a local, environmentally aware community, and to learn how best to prepare fresh food for the most health benefits.
LFC is a member of Iowa Shares. Learn more about our work at: www.localfoodsconnection.org
Iowa Shares is a coalition of 15 social action, environmental, cultural, and animal welfare organizations acting together to ensure the success of Iowa communities. You can help these nonprofits sustain their work throughout the state by making a donation during our 2012 fundraising campaign. You may donate either directly to Iowa Shares or through workplace giving. Iowa Shares connects you to the nonprofits and causes that you care about the most. Iowa Shares is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and all donations are tax deductible.
Iowa Shares member organizations serve your community by providing direct service to people and animals that need help and through creating long-lasting change in the commercial, social and cultural economies of Iowa towns and cities. Iowa Shares promotes a positive, progressive message that is empowering and inclusive of all people. Through Iowa Shares, member organizations collaborate on fundraising, which allows them to reach a larger audience and to combine resources for the benefit of everyone. You can join us by making a donation directly to support the work of Iowa Shares or by designating your donation to a specific member organization. Undesignated donations are divided between member nonprofits based on a point system or go to support the program office. All designations are honored, including donations
to non-Iowa Shares organizations.
Member organizations are: Amnesty International of Iowa; Animal Protection Society of Iowa; Englert Civic Theatre; Environmental Advocates; Equality Iowa; Greater Des Moines Music Coalition; Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation; Iowa Physicians for Social Responsibility; I-RENEW; Iowa United Nations Association; Johnson County Humane Society; Legion Arts; Linn County United Nations Association; Local Foods Connection and Trees Forever.
